Tulpa Monsters
Basics
- Tulpa monsters are color-coded red. For a Tulpa monster that is also a Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link monster, the top half will be red, and the bottom half will be the color of the other card type.
- Tulpa monsters begin the game in the extra deck.
- You may only control 1 Tulpa Monster.
- Tulpa Monsters do not have DEF values, and cannot be put in Defense Position.
- Control of a Tulpa monster cannot switch.
- Tulpa monsters cannot be tributed, and they cannot be used as Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link materials, except for the summon of a Fusion/Tulpa, Synchro/Tulpa, Xyz/Tulpa, or Link/Tulpa monster.
Tulpa Summoning
- During your turn, if you do not control a Tulpa monster, you may Tulpa Summon a Tulpa monster from your Extra Deck.
- Tulpa monsters that are also Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link monsters cannot be Tulpa Summoned. They must be Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link Summoned, respectively.
- A Tulpa Summon is a Special Summon.
- Tulpa Summons cannot be negated.
- Tulpa monsters may be Tulpa Summoned to any Main Monster Zone or to the Extra Monster Zone.
- You cannot Special Summon a Tulpa monster to your side of the field if you already control a Tulpa monster.
Tulpa Damage
- If an action would cause a Tulpa monster to leave the field, instead it stays on the field, and its controller takes damage equal to the Tulpa monster’s DMG value. The DMG value is located where other cards have DEF values.
- The following actions will cause this to occur:
- Destroying it by battle
- Destroying it by card effect
- Sending it to the GY
- Banishing it
- Returning it to hand
- Returning it to deck
- Returning it to the Extra Deck
- Attaching it to an Xyz monster as Xyz material, except to Xyz Summon
- Equipping it as an Equip Spell
- This list will be updated periodically.
